Therapy for Pre-Teen & Teen Girls in Centennial, CO
Therapy for Girls Ages 12–17 Experiencing Anxiety, Perfectionism, and Emotional Overwhelm
Supporting Girls Through Anxiety, Pressure, and Emotional Overwhelm
The pre-teen and teen years can feel like an emotional rollercoaster for both your daughter and you. She might seem confident and capable one moment… and completely overwhelmed, anxious, or shut down the next.
Many of the girls I work with are:
Hard on themselves and afraid of making mistakes
Quietly anxious but still “holding it together” at school
Struggling with friendships, identity, or social pressure
Bottling things up until emotions come out at home
Feeling overwhelmed by expectations—both internal and external
High-achieving and high-masking
And as a parent, it can feel like you’re losing the connection you once had, unsure how to help or what she really needs. With the right support that meets girls where they are, that connection with your daughter can feel easy again. I provide therapy for pre-teens and teen girls in Centennial, CO, and serve families in Highlands Ranch, Littleton, and the surrounding South Denver communities. Therapy can help her better understand what she’s feeling and develop tools to manage it more effectively.
What Therapy Helps With
Therapy can help your daughter:
Navigate perfectionism and fear of making mistakes
Build confidence and a more stable sense of self
Improve emotional regulation and communication
Feel more comfortable being herself without masking
How I Work with Pre-Teen & Teen Girls
My approach is grounded in Synergetic Play Therapy and a nervous system-informed approach that helps girls understand and regulate their emotions, not just manage behavior on the surface. Sessions may include a mix of conversation, creative expression, and practical tools to help your daughter better understand and manage her emotions.
I focus on what’s happening beneath the surface—not just behaviors, but the internal experiences driving them. This is especially important for girls who internalize their emotions, overthink and self-criticize, and appear “fine” but feel overwhelmed internally. This helps girls feel more confident, less overwhelmed, and better able to handle challenges in daily life.
How Therapy Works
Many parents wonder what therapy will actually look like for their teen. Sessions typically begin on a weekly or biweekly basis to build consistency and trust. As progress is made, sessions may shift to biweekly or monthly.

What Sets My Work Apart
→ A Safe, Judgment-Free Space
I create a space where your daughter doesn’t have to perform, explain everything perfectly, or have it all figured out.
Many of the girls I work with are high-achieving and high-masking, appearing “fine” on the outside while struggling internally. Here, she can feel seen, understood, and supported without pressure.
→ Building Emotional Awareness & Regulation
Together, we help your daughter understand what she’s feeling and how it shows up in her body.
She’ll learn to:
→ Identify and name emotions
→ Stay with feelings without becoming overwhelmed
→ Manage anxiety and intense reactions
→ Communicate her needs more clearly
You’ll also be included in the process, so you feel more confident supporting her at home.
→ Supporting Growth, Confidence, and Identity
Therapy isn’t just about reducing anxiety—it’s about supporting who your daughter is becoming.
We focus on:
→ Building confidence from the inside out
→ Developing healthy boundaries
→ Strengthening identity and self-trust
→ Navigating social pressure and expectations
This creates a foundation that supports her not just now, but into adulthood. With the right support, your daughter can learn to manage anxiety, build confidence, and feel more secure in who she is, both now and as she grows into adulthood.
