The pre-teen and teen years can feel like an emotional rollercoaster—for both your daughter and you. One moment she’s confident and carefree; the next, she’s anxious, shut down, or overwhelmed by feelings she can’t explain. You may feel like you’re losing the easy connection you once had, unsure how to help her navigate this new stage of life.

If your daughter is struggling with anxiety, grief, perfectionism, big emotions, or challenges related to neurodivergence, it can be painful to watch her retreat, lash out, or lose confidence. You just want her to feel safe in her own skin again.

How I Work with Pre-Teen & Teen Girls

As a Certified Synergetic Play Therapist, my approach is rooted in Synergetic Play Therapy and Polyvagal Theory—methods that help me understand what’s happening beneath the surface, especially when girls struggle to find the words for what they’re feeling. I use relational therapy to create a strong therapeutic alliance that creates a sense of safety, all while becoming more aware of current emotional patterns and ways to regulate.

Adolescence can feel confusing and vulnerable. I create a space where girls feel safe to show up exactly as they are—messy emotions, questions, and all. Whether your daughter is navigating anxiety, self-esteem struggles, friendship challenges, or identity questions, therapy offers her a place to feel seen, heard, and understood.

Building Emotional Awareness & Regulation

Together, we’ll explore how emotions show up in her body and how her nervous system responds to stress. Through gentle education and nervous system-informed tools, she’ll learn how to manage big feelings, regulate through the ups and downs, and communicate what she needs. You’ll also be included in the process, so you can better understand her emotional world and support her outside of sessions as you navigate this new season of parenting.

How Therapy Works

Sessions typically begin on a weekly or biweekly basis to establish a solid foundation of trust and connection and are typically conducted in-person. Telehealth is available if that format is a good fit for your teen. As your child progresses, we may shift to biweekly, monthly, or as-needed sessions. Parent meetings can occur weekly, monthly, or quarterly, depending on your child’s age and needs. I’m a big fan of providing caregivers and teens with visual aids, handouts, and resource recommendations they can use at home.

Session Cost: $155 per session
