Therapy for Pre-Teen & Teen Girls in Centennial, CO

For girls ages 12-16

Supporting Girls Through Anxiety, Pressure, and Emotional Overwhelm

The pre-teen and teen years can feel like an emotional rollercoaster for both your daughter and you. She might seem confident and capable one moment… and completely overwhelmed, anxious, or shut down the next.

Many of the girls I work with are:

  • Hard on themselves and afraid of making mistakes

  • Quietly anxious but still “holding it together” at school

  • Struggling with friendships, identity, or social pressure

  • Bottling things up until emotions come out at home

  • Feeling overwhelmed by expectations—both internal and external

  • High-achieving and high-masking, appear “fine” on the outside but internally carry a lot

And as a parent, it can feel like you’re losing the connection you once had, unsure how to help or what she really needs. With the right support that meets girls where they are, that connection with your daughter can feel easy again. I provide therapy for pre-teens and teen girls in Centennial, CO, and serve families in Highlands Ranch, Littleton, and the surrounding South Denver communities.

What Therapy Helps With

Therapy can help your daughter:

  • Manage anxiety, stress, and emotional overwhelm

  • Navigate perfectionism and high self-pressure

  • Build confidence and a more stable sense of self

  • Improve emotional regulation and communication

  • Feel more comfortable being herself—without masking

How I Work with Pre-Teen & Teen Girls

My approach is grounded in Synergetic Play Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, and relational therapy.

While younger children express themselves primarily through play, pre-teens and teens often need a blend of:

  • Conversation

  • Creative expression

  • Nervous system awareness & experiential learning

  • Directive interventions

I focus on what’s happening beneath the surface—not just behaviors, but the internal experiences driving them. This is especially important for girls who internalize their emotions, overthink and self-criticize, and appear “fine” but feel overwhelmed internally.

What Sets My Work Apart

→ A Safe, Judgment-Free Space

Adolescence is a time of identity development, vulnerability, and change. I create a space where your daughter can show up fully, without pressure to perform, explain everything perfectly, or have it all figured out. Many of the girls I work with are high-achieving and high-masking

Whether she’s navigating:

  • Anxiety or panic

  • Friendship struggles or social stress

  • Self-esteem or identity questions

  • Neurodivergence

She’ll have a space to feel seen, understood, and supported.

→ Building Emotional Awareness & Regulation

Together, we build awareness of how emotions show up in her body and how her nervous system responds to stress.

Through this process, she learns to:

  • Identify and name what she’s feeling

  • Stay with emotions without becoming overwhelmed

  • Regulate anxiety and intense reactions

  • Communicate her needs more clearly

You’ll also be included in the process, so you can better understand what she’s experiencing and feel more confident supporting her at home.

→ Creating Space for Growth & Self-Discovery

Therapy isn’t just about reducing symptoms—it’s about supporting who your daughter is becoming.

We focus on:

  • Building confidence from the inside out

  • Developing healthy boundaries

  • Strengthening identity and self-trust

  • Navigating social dynamics and expectations

This creates a foundation that supports her not just now, but into adulthood.

A Path to Healing & Growth

Adolescence can be a time of confusion, but it’s also a time of incredible growth. With the right support, your daughter can learn to manage her emotions, build confidence, and thrive as she grows into adulthood.
